Theme: Worshiping God/ God Sends a Savior
Worship is important. Matthew 2:1-2 says that the wise men brought gifts and came to worship the new king. Can you think of ways that you have worshiped in the last week?
For years, the wise men studied the stars. God sent a very special star to reveal to them that the promised King of the Jews had been born. They made an incredibly long journey to worship Jesus. As you listen to this episode, think about all the gifts you have to worship this same king.

Reflect
What is your favorite thing about your birthday? Is it the cake? Spending time with people? Or is it the gifts? Gifts can be really fun to receive. One thing that makes gifts so special is that someone took the time to think about you and get you something that they think you will enjoy. It shows they love you. Giving gifts can be fun too, as it tells the other person that we care about them. Worship is like giving a gift. We worship to show our love, awe and thankfulness to God. The wise men brought expensive gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to worship Jesus. But what about you? What can you worship Jesus with?
When you worship, God is interested in what is in your heart. You might worship with a song, a prayer, or by reading the Bible. You might praise him in worship when you’re marveling at His amazing creation on a hike. You might worship God by doing an act of service for someone else in gratitude for all God has done for you. Worship shows your heart connection to God. Many activities are worship when they are done in thankfulness and awe for what God has done for you!

Challenge
Using some scrap paper, cut out some hearts. You can color them if you’d like. On each heart, write one way that you can worship God throughout the day. Some examples might be singing a praise song, praying each morning, or thanking God for His amazing creation. Find places to post your “hearts of worship” like your fridge, bathroom mirror, or bedroom wall. Add to your hearts as you think of more ways to worship. Share your ideas with a parent or family member. Perhaps they have another idea or two to add to your hearts!
