Theme: Discovering Wisdom/The Story Begins
- Jeremiah 7:21, 23 says that God chose you as one of his people. God tells us his story in the Bible. But his story isn’t finished yet! Even today, God’s story continues. And you are a part of his story. How do you see God using you in His story?
- The Bible tells the story about God and his people. As you listen, think about how God is always in control throughout all the parts of his story.

Reflect
Genesis 1 shows us that God is the maker of everything, and the whole world belongs to God.
Genesis 3 tells the story of how Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sinned against him. The good news is that the story didn’t end there. God promises to send a messiah, someone who would rescue his people and his world from sin. God chose a family that grew into a nation. This is the part of the Bible called the Old Testament where God begins to put his rescue plan into action.
The New Testament begins when God sends Jesus to be born in Bethlehem. Jesus spent his time on earth preaching, teaching and healing people. Some leaders didn’t believe that he was the Messiah, and they killed him. Thankfully, we know the story doesn’t end there! In three days, Jesus rose from the dead, just as he said He would!
Before Jesus went back into heaven, he promised he would send a helper, the Holy Spirit. With this help, Jesus’ disciples began telling the story of God’s rescue plan, and many people believed. Jesus’ church was being built and this church continues to be built to this day! We look forward to the day when He will return and restore all things here on earth. God will again walk with his people, just as he did with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
God has a special plan for you, and you are invited to participate in what God is doing. God is working now, and he is calling you to find your place in the story of the Bible.

Challenge
God’s story is still unfolding! Take a blank sheet of paper and fold it in half, like a book. On the cover, write “God’s Story”. Maybe draw a picture illustrating a Bible scene.
On the inside cover, print the six parts of God’s story:
1. Creation
2. Fall into sin
3. God chose a people
4. God sends a savior.
5. God sends the Holy Spirit
6. God will make creation perfect again.
On the next page, write or draw how you fit into God’s story. What gifts did God give you? Where will he use you? How can you help grow his kingdom?
Share your book with someone who knows you well, like a parent, a friend, a teacher or a coach. Ask how they see themselves as part of God’s story.
