Memory Verse

Romans 8:37-39

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Have you ever played with magnets? While they might look like ordinary pieces of metal, magnets have an electrical charge that allows them to stick to metal objects or other magnets. Of course, all magnets do not want to stick together. Every magnet has two sides, called the north pole and the south pole. Opposite poles are attracted to each other. That means they will stick together and can be very hard to pull apart. But two of the same poles repel each other. They will not stick together, no matter how hard you try!

The love of God is like a strong magnet. Nothing can separate you from his love, no matter what happens. Sometimes, you might feel like something bad you have done has separated you from the love of God. Instead of being stuck to God’s love, you feel pushed far away from it, like magnets of the same pole. But this is not the truth! God is still there with you. He will never move away from you.

When you feel separated from the love of God, remember that God has already shown his love to you and to all the world. He sent his Son Jesus to save us from our sins. Even the strongest magnet doesn’t have a greater pull than this!

Prayer

Dear God, thank you that nothing can separate me from your love. Help me to love others as you love me. Amen.
